Title: The Evolution of Personalised Health Care within Data Management?
Presenter: BROWN, Steve: Roche
Personal Healthcare (PHC) is like the evolution of ‘radio’ from “one station for all” to “individualised Spotify playlists” tailored just for you?
In the same way that Spotify & Internet radio has helped personalise music for people – PHC, Big Personalised (Real World) Data, advanced analytics & technological advances are beginning to help personalise treatments for patients…..
Science and technology are evolving fast and re-shaping boundaries to what is possible in medical research and patient care. The emergence of big data and technological advancement in analytics to interpret this data are enabling the next step towards Personalised Healthcare. Here @ Roche we have identified a need for a new mindset within Data Mgt to cater for the next generation of clinical studies.
Patient identification for therapies has evolved overtime from all comers i.e. “one drug fits all” to patient identification using a single biomarker. Leading to future development in comprehensive patient profiles & individualised treatment plans.”
The combination of technological trends (comprehensive diagnostics, big data and advanced analytics) is enabling an evolution in personalised healthcare At the point of care, comprehensive profiling will enable identification of a single patient who will be offered an individualised treatment plan.
At Roche we have many initiatives currently underway that fall within the strategy of PHC. Many initiatives involve the inclusion of key Clinical Data Mgt personnel. Last summer I organised a one day conference, showcasing to our community how Roche are leading the way in the next generation of Personal Health Care for all….
Increasing internal awareness and understanding, about the evolution in PHC and its impact, is a key focus area for our CDM community. PHC is really fundamental to who we are at Roche.
I would be delighted to share our definition of Personal Health Care at conference.
